Violin: A major, G major, Bb major (2 or 3 octaves)
Viola: D major, C major (2 or 3 octaves), F major (1, 2 or 3 octaves)
Cello: D major, C major (2 or 3 octaves), F major (1, 2 or 3 octaves)
Bass: F major, G major, Bb major (1 octaves)
Flute: Bb major, F major, and Eb major (1 or 2 octaves)
Oboe: C, D, and F (1, 2, or 3 octaves) Chromatic scale (2 octaves)
Clarinet: C major= Bb concert (1 or 2 octaves) , G major= F concert (1 octaves) , F major (1 octave) Chromatic scale starting on low E (1 octave)
Trumpet: Bb major= C concert, Eb major= F concert, F major= G concert (1 or 2 octaves)
French Horn: C major= F concert, F major= Bb concert, Bb major = Eb concert (1 or 2 octaves)
Trombone: Bb major, Eb major, and F major (1 or 2 octaves)
Tuba: Bb major, Eb major, and F major (1 or 2 octaves)
Saxophone: G, C, and D for alto/baritone, C, F, and G for tenor/soprano (1 or 2 octaves).
A (concert C/G), Eb (Concert Gb/Concert Db), or B (concert D/A) (1 or 2 octaves)
Percussion: Prepare any three from the following ROLL EXERCISES
Piano: C major, G major, and D major (2-3 octaves hands separately or together)
Harp: C major, G Major, and F major (1 or 2 octaves)

Follow these steps if video recording your sight-reading:
- Do not look at the music until you start recording.
- Push Record: You may look at the music for 30-60 seconds to examine key signature, time signature, rhythms and the basic flow of the line. DO NOT PLAY.
- When you are ready, play the excerpt straight through. TIP: Choose a tempo that will allow you to play the notes and keep a steady beat.
- Stop recording. Do NOT re-record, otherwise, it will not count as sight-reading.
