ZachAry Brown
Cellist | INstructor: chamber Roots Ensemble

Zachary Brown is a cellist, born in Queens, NY. A recent college graduate, he attended Ithaca College, where he received a double degree in Cello Performance and Jazz Studies. He is a multi-styled cellist, studying and teaching classical repertoire while playing Jazz and Blue grass traditions. He has appeared as a guest artist at the New Directions Cello Festival twice where he has performed, taught, and led full scale master classes and workshops. He has also given workshops and masterclasses on cello technique, as well as jazz and bluegrass in the Westchester public schools. He recently received his Master’s in Cello Performance at SUNY Purchase and taught at the Larchmont Music Academy and Rosehill Music Academy. He is a founding member of the folk/ bluegrass quartet Westbound Situation.
